Nokia 5.1 Plus Review new Delhi

Brands like Shawomi, Honor, Samsung, Asus and Realm are launching budgets from mid-range smartphones. Every company is trying to attract more and more customers to their smartphones. In the last one year, HMD Global has also launched Nokia's Android smartphones. But Nokia is finding it difficult to make space between the rivalry, because almost all the companies are launching phones with strong specifications in very aggressive pricing.

HMD Global has recently introduced Nokia 5.1 plus 10,999 rupees. It can be called an upgraded variant of Nokia 5.1. We used Nokia 5.1 for a few days and saw how it works. Let's review it ...

Nokia 5.1 Plus Review design

Talk of design, the Nokia 5.1 Plus design is better and it is one of the biggest features of the device. The phone is high-gloss body and has a 2.5-D good glass on the front and rear. New handsets look premium in comparison to other smartphones coming in this price. Nokia's Nokia phone is larger than Nokia 6.1 Plus and has a speaker and front camera. Apart from this, there is also a small Chin and Nokia branding on the screen.

There are two rear sensors with vertical design on the rear of the phone, which are slightly moving forward. Under the sensor there is a fingerprint sensor. Like other Nokia handsets, you can also get 'Android One' branding downwards.

On the right hand side, the volume rocker and power buttons are given in the handset while the SIM card tray is on the left side. Smartphones have 3.5mm audio jacks upstairs and features like Speaker Grill and USB Type-C at the bottom.

Nokia 5.1 Pluse Review display

HMD's new Nokia 5.1 Plus has a 5.86-inch display with an aspect ratio of 19: 9. Screen resolution is HD + 720 1520 pixels. Full HD + display has been given in other phones such as Asus Zenfone Max Pro AM1 and Redmi 6 Pro which are priced at this price. However, Color Reproduction in Nokia 5.1 Plus is OK.

Due to the Android One smartphones, there is no customization or no other Nokia features. Users get features like Basic Adaptive Brightness, Ambient Display and Tap to Wake. The display is not very spectacular but it will not disappoint you too.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Review performance

Talk about the hardware, Nokia 5.1 Plus has the Octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor and 3GB RAM. Inbuilt storage is 32 GB, which can increase up to 400 GB via microSD card.

With the MediaTek Helio P60 processor and 3GB RAM, the phone repeatedly responds slowly. But we did not see problems hanging in the phone during testing. However, sometimes it becomes hot. Navigation, app switching and up to hours of video playback are easily done.

Like other Nokia handsets, it's part of Google's Android One, so you do not have to get extra apps in the phone. In this Google applications come pre-installed. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreio and is expected to get an update of Android 9.0 Pi soon.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Review camera

Nokia 5.1 Plus has 13-megapixel primary and 5-megapixel secondary sensor with aperture F / 2.0. There is an 8 megapixel Fixed Focus front camera for selfie and video calling, which comes with the aperture F / 2.2. The camera performance of the phone is in terms of price and it is okay. The camera gets hanged many times and some users may not like it.

Photos taken from the phone's camera in natural light are of average quality, while photos coming from the phone in low light are not good. Sometimes the Bokeh effect does not work properly and there is no difference between foreground and background. Many times, we get clear and good pictures with the depth effect.

Photos coming from 8 megapixels front camera are average. If you are fond of Selfie, you will not like front camera.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Review Battery

The smartphone has a 3060mAh battery. The Nokia 5.1 Plus battery runs comfortably for one day. This includes tasks like routine tasks like GPS tracking, movie viewing. If you use a lot of phone then it will not last a day. There is no fast charging touch in the handset and it takes about 2 hours to complete the charge.

The last verdict

Nokia 5.1 Plus is the best phone to come in at a price of Rs 10,999, which looks the most beautiful. This stock comes with Android Experience and is guaranteed to receive timely updates due to being part of Google's Android One program.

However, the camera of the phone is average and due to the mediatech processor it is difficult to advise buying this phone. In this market you will find many other good options like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, Radmi 6 Pro and Honor 9 N in the market.
